Cloud services for Duluth and Superior businesses

For most businesses, the cloud is where email, files and line-of-business applications are heading, if they are not there already. Done well, it means your people can work from anywhere, you stop replacing servers every few years, and a failed piece of hardware is somebody else’s problem. Done without a plan, it means rising bills, files in three places and nobody sure what is backed up.

We help you choose the right environment, move to it without disruption, and keep it secure and affordable afterwards.

What we do

Cloud strategy and consulting

Before anything moves, we look at your applications, data, security needs and growth plans, and recommend where each thing should live. Some belong in a public cloud, some are better kept on your own equipment, and many businesses end up with both.

Migration

We plan and carry out the move of email, files, applications and data, in stages, with a way back at each step. The aim is that staff arrive one morning and things simply work from the new place.

Infrastructure: public, private, hybrid and multicloud

We design and build the environment itself: servers, storage, networking and identity. Hybrid setups connect your office systems to the cloud so they behave as one; multicloud setups spread work across more than one provider where that makes sense.

Cloud backup and disaster recovery

Backups of your servers, computers and cloud services such as Microsoft 365, kept separately from the originals and tested. The recovery plan states how quickly each system comes back and in what order.

Cloud security

Sign-in rules, multi-factor authentication, permissions, monitoring and data protection. Most cloud breaches come from a setting, not from the provider, so this is where the attention goes.

Management and cost control

Ongoing monitoring, updates and a regular review of what you are paying for against what you use.

Integration and connectivity

Connecting cloud applications to each other and to your office, so information is entered once and the connection between your building and your cloud is fast and private.

Application modernization

Older applications that only run on one aging server can often be moved, rebuilt or replaced. We tell you which of those is worth doing.

Signs it is time for a cloud review

  • Your server is more than five years old and due for replacement.
  • Staff email files to themselves to work from home.
  • Your cloud bill has grown and nobody can explain why.
  • You are not sure whether your Microsoft 365 or Google data is backed up.
  • A former employee may still have access to shared files.

Managed cloud for larger environments

For businesses running substantial workloads in Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, we work with specialist managed-cloud providers who operate, secure and optimise those environments, and we stay your local point of contact.

FAQ

Cloud Solutions FAQs

Which cloud is right for our business?

It depends on your applications, your security requirements and your budget. We are vendor-neutral: we look at what you run today and recommend public, private, hybrid or a mix, across platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.

Will moving to the cloud interrupt our work?

A planned migration should not. We map what depends on what, move things in stages, schedule the switch outside your busy hours and keep the old system available until the new one is confirmed working.

Is our data safe in the cloud?

It can be safer than a server in a closet, provided it is set up properly: who can sign in, from where, with what second factor, and how it is backed up. Those settings are your responsibility, not the cloud provider's, and they are what we configure.

Do we still need backups if everything is in the cloud?

Yes. Cloud services keep their systems running; they do not protect you from a deleted folder, a ransomware attack that syncs, or an account closed by mistake. A separate backup does.

Why is our cloud bill going up?

Usually unused resources, oversized servers and storage nobody has cleaned up. A review of what you are paying for against what you use normally finds savings quickly.

Can you manage a cloud setup someone else built?

Yes. We start with an assessment of what is there, document it, fix what is risky and then look after it.
